Centrosolar at EU PV SEC in Valencia
Hamburg, July 15, 2008. At this year’s European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PV SEC) held from 1 to 5 September in Valencia, Spain, Centrosolar will present some examples from its product range. Main focus of the crystalline solar modules lies on the SM8000 module. The large surface system PV Plate represents the thin-film line of the company. Centrosolar specialises in thin-film technology and processes laminates made from amorphous silicon to solar roof tiles and roofing membranes.
Crystalline System SM8000
Modules from the Solara SM8000 class are the epitome of premium quality and guarantee highest yields. During manufacturing polycrystalline solar cells are processed. Centrosolar produces these modules in the company’s own manufactures in Wismar and Doesburg (Netherlands). The SM8000 series covers the performance classes from 195 to 240 Wp. The outstanding quality shows itself in the cells’ good performance under low light. Even with cloudy skies and bad lighting conditions, they generate good yields.
Modules from the SM8000 class come equipped with an antireflective coating. The antireflective (AR) glass is a specially coated solar glass which enhances the yields generated by solar installations. The antireflective coating on the glass covering photovoltaics modules reduces reflexion of the sunlight. Centrosolar procures this solar glass from its sister company Centrosolar Glas. The glass specialist self-developed the process for AR-coating and has won a number of accolades for this (Bavarian Energy Award, Bavarian Innovation Award, Solar Award of the City of Fürth).
Thin-Film Module PV Plate
Large surface system PV Plate is a solar roofing system for large roofs. With a length of more than five meters and a width of 0.8 meters, this system is especially suitable for use in industry and agriculture. The modules consist of foil laminates glued onto polyester coated galvanized steel. The solar cells are made from amorphous silicon. „Triple Junction“ technology makes sure that the sunlight is used very effictively. In comparison with crystalline photovoltaics modules, yields generated by thin-film cells are higher when mounted on very low pitched roofs or on roofs with less-than-perfect orientation. Even flat north-facing roofs are suitable for these solar plates. They are available in the 272 to 288 Wp performance classes.
These and other photovoltaics systems can be viewed at Centrosolar’s booth in hall 4, booth D25. The team from Centrosolar’s Spanish subsidiary Centrosolar Fotovoltaico España S.L. will be present on all four days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In addition to the trade fair, Centrosolar will also be part of the PV Conference which takes place at the same time. In the context of the poster exhibition, Willi Ernst, Member of the Advisory Board of Centrosolar AG, will give a lecture on “BIPV or the Beauty of Photovoltaics“. The poster can be viewed on all five conference days. Willi Ernst’s lecture will be held on Tuesday, 2 September, from 10.30 a.m to 12.10 p.m. at the poster exhibition.
