Hot water test
The hot water test was first developed by Centrosolar. In this test, the solar cell is exposed to water heated to approx. 70° C for a long period of time. This tests to see if the aluminium alloys on the rear of the solar cell begin to loosen from the solar cell under the influence of moisture. The test, which was first developed by the Centrosolar Research and Innovation Department, initially bore the name of its inventory, Erik Eikelboom. It has since become one of the standard test procedures for solar cells, and is in regular use by many companies in the photovoltaics field.
