Centrosolar Sonnenstromfabrik – a success story
Centrosolar Sonnenstromfabrik GmbH, subsidiary of Centrosolar AG, looks back on an eventful history of success: In the mid-90s, Solara GbR was founded in Ellerbek, Schleswig-Holstein, for the distribution of solar modules. Only two years later, the company started its own production of solar modules at a new site in Wismar. Following various expansions of the production line, the company changed its name to Centrosolar Sonnenstromfabrik in 2008. Currently, it is one of the largest German module manufacturers with around 450 employees and a capacity of 155 MWp – and thanks to new sales markets in Southern Europe and the United States, the company continues on its growth course.
Centrosolar AG believes in innovation and sustainability both in production and building equipment. This includes exhaust air heat exchangers to recover the heat generated during lamination; condensing boiler technology from Wolf and an integrated heating and climate ceiling in the office wing. In addition, the roof of the production hall and the warehouse was equipped with a 300 kWp photovoltaic installation - with modules built in the in-house production.
